Crew & Community

A Movement Rooted in People

The Living Earth Movement is built on a simple truth: lasting change begins with people. Our strength comes from the thousands of Namibians — villagers, farmers, youth, teachers, professionals, entrepreneurs, and supporters — who are joining hands to co-create a more abundant future.

We call this network the Living Earth Community: a diverse ecosystem of people who share knowledge, trade, grow food, build sustainable homes, and experiment with regenerative solutions across Namibia.

Within the Community, those who step up to actively take responsibility become part of the Crew. Crew members hold roles, run projects, manage circles, and drive Living Earth forward. They don’t just participate — they shape the direction of our movement and earn a stake in it.

The Living Earth Crew

The Crew is made up of people who commit their skills, energy, or resources to build the movement. Crew members may:

  • Run projects such as food forests, school gardens, or the Expo.
  • Take on organisational roles (finance, training, communications, etc.).
  • Support others through mentorship, training, or expertise.
  • Develop tools, content, or businesses under the Living Earth umbrella.

In return, Crew members are recognised through our Merit System, earning Merit Vouchers that can be converted into ownership shares. This ensures that those who build Living Earth also own part of it.

How We Work Together

We organise ourselves through Circles and Roles. Each Circle focuses on a major area (like Food, Energy, Expo, or Marketplace), while Roles are specific responsibilities within them. This keeps us flexible, transparent, and collaborative.

To stay connected across distances, we use tools that work for everyone — from WhatsApp groups and Communities to in-person meetings, Odoo, and shared documents. WhatsApp is our most common tool, but it’s only one part of how we communicate. For details on how our WhatsApp groups are structured, see our Group Guidelines page.

Why Community Matters

Living Earth is not just a company or an association. It’s a movement of people who believe Namibia can feed itself, power itself, and govern itself regeneratively.

Together, our Community:

  • Shares skills and resources across villages, towns, and cities.
  • Supports projects that make a real difference on the ground.
  • Builds bridges between farmers, schools, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
  • Creates opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and lead.
  • Provides resilience in times of climate change, economic stress, and social fragmentation.

The Crew carries this mission forward, ensuring that Living Earth remains grounded in the contributions of its people, not just in ideas or institutions.

How to Get Involved

  • Start by joining our Community through events, trainings, or one of our open groups.
  • Take on a role or project if you’re ready to contribute more actively.
  • Become Crew and grow into shared ownership of Living Earth Projects (Pty) Ltd.

Whether you’re planting seeds in a village, running a small business, coding a tool, or investing in our mission, you have a place here.
