Help Us Showcase Civil Society’s Contribution to Nutrition in Namibia

From 22 to 24 September 2026, the Nutrition and Food Security Alliance of Namibia (NAFSAN), in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Namibia and other partners, will host:

Nutrition in Namibia: Key for Growth and Development
Reflections on progress towards Namibia’s Nutrition for Growth commitments

The event will take place at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) in Windhoek. It will bring together government, civil society and other partners to reflect on the progress Namibia has made towards its Nutrition for Growth commitments—and the work that still lies ahead.

Calling all civil-society, academic and private-sector partners

NAFSAN is preparing an exhibition presenting Namibia’s Nutrition for Growth commitments. The exhibition posters will cover:

  • Why each commitment is relevant and important, including its links to NDP6 and the Sustainable Development Goals
  • Progress, successes, achievements and milestones
  • Challenges and barriers affecting implementation
  • Priorities, projects and activities that can help move the commitment forward

We want these posters to recognise and celebrate the important contributions being made by civil-society organisations, academic institutions and committed private-sector partners.

If your organisation has contributed to any of Namibia’s nutrition commitments during the past five years, please share your work with NAFSAN. Contributions may include:

  • Projects, programmes and community activities
  • Research, surveys or assessments
  • Educational, training or awareness materials
  • Policies, advocacy initiatives or partnerships
  • Results, success stories and lessons learned
  • Photographs that could be included in the exhibition
  • Videos, publications or online resources that could be linked through QR codes

Please indicate which of the following commitment areas your contribution supports:

  • Self-sufficient and sustainable food production
  • Community health and food safety
  • Access to food for everyone
  • Nutritional health services and information systems
  • A right start for children
  • Nutrition awareness and healthy diets
  • Investing in nutrition
  • Multi-sectoral coordination and working together

Please send relevant information and materials to info@nafsan.org, or contact NAFSAN on 085 771 1229.
